Delta 77824-RB Leland 24-Inch Towel Bar, Venetian Bronze

We recently built a new home and wanted the towel accessories to match our bath fixtures which were the Delta "Leland" style. The towel bars are of good quality and match our other hardware. Delta's installation templates made the process easy. Amazon's prices were 40% below any other source!

Finish is great and components are heavy and are of quality. Mounting issues though as follows:

When you use the screws into a stud, the brackets are very nice and tight and secure. When you use the anchors supplied in open drywall, the lip on the anchor that keeps it from sinking into the wall keeps the braket far enough away from the wall that the bracket just "rests" in the mounting groove rather thans snaps in. In other words, the wall is used as part of the mount. The wall is what supplies the pressure against the mounting brackets to hold snugly. The millimeter of space left between the wall and the bracket when using a drywall anchor is enough to allow the brackets to just be held down by gravity. They need to supply a different kind of drywall anchor with the product!

I used some caulking adhesive on the brackets themselves where the wall mount and the bracket meet to keep the towel bars from being loose, but that should NOT need to be done for what... Read more

This towel bar, toilet paper holder and towel ring all use the same screw-less "clip" mechanism. However, unless there is a trick that is not mentioned on the installation instruction, you won't get a very secure attachment of the base to the wall bracket. The base will just loosely sit over the bracket, can move a little bit and even fall off if lifted. I installed quite few bath hardware from difference brands and this Delta is the worst. The hardware looks nice but practically useless.
